Customer Rating: Summary: A fabulous read... Comment: I absolutely loved reading this book. It is not only witty and well written, but provides many practical methods for learning how to make yourself happy first and by doing so, attracting others. It is a feel-good read and a great reference guide to keep handy.
Customer Rating: Summary: Darn good advice on dating Comment: Authors of The Breakup Repair Kit have done it again.
The Dating Repair Kit is written for women (of all ages--being older doesn't reduce the "dating dumbness") who don't know how to have a satisfying love life.
They make reality TV shows out of this--so obviously it is a very big deal. Maybe this is why many women are satisfied being single, knowing they don't need to be married to be happy--but if the right man arrived, they'd consider marriage.
The Repair Kit has three sections:
1. Come First: Focus on yourself to set the scene for a great love.
2. How to Deal: How good things happen if we know how to keep our lives full and focus on us.
3. Dating: Learning from people who have a good love life.
Insightful, empowering and inspiring, anyone can find good information and stories that you may see yourself.
The five easy steps to a "great love life" are simple, yet powerful--and made total sense as I've seen friends do these steps to heal themselves and go forward.
1. Remove baggage. Rid yourself and your house of past relationships. Declutter both your space and your mind--and get resolution.
2. Fantasize. What does your ideal life look like? Focus on what you want.
3. Take baby steps. Get the ball rolling and take action.
4. Confront your excuses. Start "becoming" now.
5. Date smarter. Learn from others' experiences.
These authors have packed the book with a lot of good information, easy for a dating person (or wanna-be dater) to read in short spurts--and then act on. I know exactly whom I'll pass this book on to now. Really, I need several copies as I am surrounded by people who need dating repair.
This book has a cute cover and design throughout, with lots of bulleted lists and quotes. I wonder however: Am I the only person who finds reading an ENTIRE book in RED ink a big challenge?
Armchair Interviews says: Divided into 30 days, the book shows you how to repair your dating life. Just do it.
