Editorial Reviews:

What is Clare Wingate doing? One minute she's suffering in a pretty-in-pink gown she'll never wear again, and the next thing she knows it's morning . . . and she has the nastiest hangover of her life.

To make matters worse, she's wearing nothing but a spritz of Escada and lying next to Sebastian Vaughan . . . her girlhood crush turned sexy, globe-hopping journalist. Somewhere between the toast and the toss of the bouquet she'd gotten herself into a whole lot of trouble.

Clare had the right to go wild—after all, she'd been knocked off her dyed-to-match shoes after finding her own fiancé in a compromising position with the washing machine repairman. Clearly her society wedding is off.

But Sebastian pushed all the wrong buttons—and some of the right ones, too. Clare is in no mood for love—not even for lust—and wants to forget about Sebastian and his six-pack abs ASAP. But he isn't in the mood to go away, and his kiss is impossible to forget.

Summary: Really more like 3.5 stars
Comment: I enjoyed this book, but it was not my favorite out of the series. I liked Clare and Sebastian, but their story did not grab me like some of the others did (mostly Lucy & Quinn and then Maddie & Mick). It's still a good book though.

Summary: Rachel is a fun and realistic author, I highly recommend her books!
Comment: Im not sure what people are looking for but this woman is an amazing modern day romance writer. I love how she portrays the male characters, they are how real men think, speak and react (without being raunchy). I find myself laughing out loud often and I have almost read all of her books. The female characters are just as human too.

I think I love her writings because I can actually see these thing happening. I think Rachel is just verbally creative and funny. I never knew these kinds of books existed till the day I bought THIS book on a whim. Now I am hooked!

I would love to see the people that have criticized her books so harshly, do better. In a world where everyone is taking themselves and love way too seriously--we need books like this to lighten up things. If you are looking for a funny look at love and the crazy things we do when we are in love......then I highly recommend ALL of Rachel's books! oh and I really like how she connects the books together.

Summary: Just so-so
Comment: I love Rachel Gibson. This was one of my least favorite books of hers (True Confessions was the worst). It was just so-so. I didn't particularly like the lead character. Clare is a high-class, well-bred woman who gets drunk and sleeps with strangers when something bad goes wrong in her life. Oh yeah, and she writes romance novels for a living. And the leading man, Sebastian, was just plain arrogant. I like confident -- I think all women do. But a braggart is different. I just couldn't care about their romance. As I write this, I think maybe 3 stars might be too much!

I also REALLY hate the cross promotion that Gibson is doing. The previous book, Sex, Lies, and Online Dating was a complete set up for this book. This book not only set up the next book in the series (Tangled Up in You -- a much better read), but for those who read this one first, it also pre-sets-up the first book. UGH!

Summary: Very slow beginning, but satisfying ending
Comment: This book did not need to be 359 pages. It's almost as if the author padded the beginning of the book with useless descriptions and dialogs to make it a longer book. I almost put it down, but because Simply Irresistible was such a hit for me, I suffered through the first 200 pages. In the first 200 or so pages (I didn't exactly count, but roughly the first 200), actual interaction between the main characters was VERY limited. It could have been condensed down significantly leaving out the repeated descriptions of Clare or Sebastian's childhood or the extensive descriptions of some random character or another at some random event Clare's mother was hosting. The vast majority of time spent- in what must be almost the first half of the book- did absolutely nothing to set the reader up for the remainder of the book. I actually scanned some pages and moved on. I don't know what I missed, but I don't feel like I missed a thing. Once Sebastian started visiting more regularly and he and Clare started seeing each other, the book picked up and it seemed that the plot FINALLY started to develop. When the book did get going, it was great. However, I maintained optimism throughout the first 200 or so drab pages. You might not have that kind of patience.

Summary: Funny romantic story...
Comment: I don't know why this story got such bad reviews. I personally liked it a lot. It was funny and romantic all at once. I actually got teary eyed towards the end. Claire is a young woman who was engaged to a guy named Lonny who happeneds to be a gay guy trapped in the closet, he won't admit he's gay, and continues to date woman. One day Claire comes home to find her fiancee being straddled by the sears repairman, and he says it doesn't mean anything, but she refuses to listen and leaves him. The same day she has her best friends wedding to attend so she proceeds to go to the wedding, and gets completely drunk! Claire wakes up the next day in a hotel room, naked with no recollection of what happened the night b4. Luckily, it turns out to be her childhood tormentor, who used to bully her as a child. Sebastian is a hot womanizer who works as a journalist. He is immediately taken by her, but takes him some time to realize he can't live with out Claire. I MEANT TO GIVE THIS BOOK 5 STARS BUT THE SYSTEM DOESN'T LET ME EDIT!!
